The house of Mady and Pepe MATANZAS. A small apartment with bedroom, living room, mini kitchen and balcony overlooking the street. Equipped with air conditioning, hot water, TV, refrigerator, microwave, induction cooker, cooking utensils, double bed and a personal bed. Independent access.

Mady and Pepe MATANZAS' house is located in a very residential area (Playa neighborhood) that is characterized by its beautiful views of the bay and its proximity to the sea. There are several little beaches with wonderful views. The bay is impressive (don't forget that it is a "bag bay", without currents). Nearby are the well-known Cuevas de Bellamar, a tourist center where you can visit the cave and taste Creole food. If you like to walk, from the accommodation you can reach the caves on a walk (2,000 m).

The room is huge, it's actually more of an apartment (it has a bedroom, a bathroom with an amazing shower and hot water, a living room with a beautiful closed balcony, a kitchen with an electric hob, a big fridge (but a bit small) and TV). I will always remember this place. My first night, I sat in the living room with the balcony doors open, watching TV (as if I understood Spanish, lol). I remember a man who rode by on a bicycle, with a large cage. He announced that he was selling "eggs" and there were children playing in the street. I melted. I know it's a small thing, but it was an authentic experience. At that moment I felt as if I had lived there all my life. It is a safe place (like all of Cuba), the surrounding area is nice and picturesque, within walking distance (about 20 minutes on foot) for the Viazul bus (which takes you to Varadero in 45 min). The regular bus is much closer, but it requires some confidence and a bit of Spanish (and I didn't have any… lol). They told me that the regular bus costs about a peso (Tamara Jennings, Philadelphia, USA)
